Lakes Fishing

Three lakes are open for fishing at Welbeck, offering members up to 80 acres of fishing.

To fish at Welbeck, you must hold a valid permit. All permits for the current season are issued digitally and your permit will be available to access anytime from your online account.

After purchasing a permit, you’ll receive access to gate/lock codes and our fishing map. 

Welbeck Lakes

Three lakes are open for fishing at Welbeck, the Great Lake, Carburton Forge and Carburton Dam, offering members up to 80 acres of fishing.

The lakes are located along the Carburton Road which can be accessed from the A616 via Cuckney and the B6034 via Carburton. Fishing along the three Welbeck lakes is permitted in designated areas, with separate car parking areas for each lake.

The following species of fish can be found in the lakes at Welbeck: pike, eel, bream, roach, perch, tench, carp and cyprinids. Pike up to 40lbs and carp up to 30lbs have been caught in the lakes at Welbeck. 

Natural England

The lakes and areas surrounding them have been designated as Sites of Special Scientific Interest by Natural England and provide a fantastic habitat for a diverse range of wildlife, particularly birds.

Our 2026-27 full fishing season runs from 16 June until 14 March. 
Our 2026-27 winter season runs from 1 October until 14 March.
